Marbury Country Park

Written by The Webmaster

Marbury Country Park lies at the heart of Northwich Community Woodlands and is a wonderful place to walk, ride your horse or cycle in the fresh Cheshire air.

You can explore 350 hectares of parkland traversing along its network of surfaced paths, many of which are suitable for prams and wheelchairs. Alternatively, take a gentle stroll along the lime avenues, in the arboretum or through the community orchard - all a legacy of when Marbury was a grand estate.

There's a picnic area, with a playground nearby for children, or you can indulge in homemade refreshments from the fabulous BeeJou ladies' cafe on wheels.

The park also links in with the North Cheshire Way and a number of national cycling routes. 'Biking the Backroads' is a gentle bike ride of 20km/13 miles around the lanes of Anderton and Great Budworth. More information on the GPS Cycling and Walking website here.

The Friends of Anderton and Marbury (FOAM) are an active group who get involved in looking after both parks and have a busy programme of walks, talks, conservation tasks and events for anyone wanting to discover more.
